Banana Bread

This is a WONDERFUL banana bread! I can only take credit for baking and taking the pictures… the recipe is from Annie Grey. I do minus the pecans in the actual bread (so that my daughter can at least eat everything except the topping). Great idea for gifts as well!



3/4 cup butter, softened

1- 8 oz pkg cream cheese, softened

2 cups sugar

2 eggs

3 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. baking soda

4-5 bananas, mashed

1 cup chopped pecans

1/2 tsp. vanilla


1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup pecans

1 Tbsp butter, melted

1/8 tsp. cinnamon


Start Preparing

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Spray 2 loaf pans OR 6 mini-loaf pans with cooking spray.
  3. Beat butter and cream cheese until creamy.
  4. Gradually add sugar until light and fluffy, then add eggs one at a time.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and baking soda; add to butter mixture
  6. Stir in mashed bananas, pecans and vanilla.
  7. Pour into desired pans.
  8. Combine ingredients for topping; sprinkle over loaves.
  9. Bake for 1 hour for large loave or 45 minutes for mini-loaves.

    OH MY this banana bread is, I mean was SO good. The bread you gave us yesterday is GONE :O
