Quick No Yeast Bread

19 Oct

I made this bread to accompany my favorite loaded baked potato soup for dinner. It can be changed to suit your taste. I added garlic powder and cheese to mine but you do not have too.

3 c. Flour

4 tsp Baking Powder

1 tsp Salt

1 1/2 cups Water (possibly a few teaspoons more depending on your humidity level)

1/4 cup Veggie or Olive Oil

1/4 tsp Garlic powder (Optional)

1/4 cup to 1/2 cup Cheese (Optional)

Start Preparing

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Mix dry ingredients together in bowl.
  3. Mix wet ingredients together in seperate bowl.
  4. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix. Be careful not to overmix!
  5. With well-greased hands, mold dough into a large ball and place onto a greased cookie sheet.
  6. Sprinkle with garlic powder and cheese if desired.
  7. Bake for 40 minutes.

This is a very quick bread recipe. It tastes very similar to Bisquick bread mix… just used with pretty much everything that you already have on hand. And this recipe is very easily¬†adjusted to fit your taste buds!

Banana Bread

6 Jul

This is a WONDERFUL banana bread! I can only take credit for baking and taking the pictures… the recipe is from Annie Grey. I do minus the pecans in the actual bread (so that my daughter can at least eat everything except the topping). Great idea for gifts as well!

3/4 cup butter, softened

1- 8 oz pkg cream cheese, softened

2 cups sugar

2 eggs

3 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. baking soda

4-5 bananas, mashed

1 cup chopped pecans

1/2 tsp. vanilla

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup pecans

1 Tbsp butter, melted

1/8 tsp. cinnamon

Start Preparing

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Spray 2 loaf pans OR 6 mini-loaf pans with cooking spray.
  3. Beat butter and cream cheese until creamy.
  4. Gradually add sugar until light and fluffy, then add eggs one at a time.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and baking soda; add to butter mixture
  6. Stir in mashed bananas, pecans and vanilla.
  7. Pour into desired pans.
  8. Combine ingredients for topping; sprinkle over loaves.
  9. Bake for 1 hour for large loave or 45 minutes for mini-loaves.
